Hmmmm!, the trending Word now is +Selfie", as at 2005, such word was not even heard of neither was it a regular term, but in 2015? guest what, its so popular that it became the Oxford English Dictionary Word of the Year 2013. Would you believe that Britons as a Country takes up to 700 million Selfies in just 30 days? Samsung carried out a survey and realised Millions of Photos taken were "Selfies" between the ages of 18-24. The study went on to say that Britons takes almost 2 billion photos a month, imagine that for just one Country, so out of the 2 billion photos a month, 700 million are "Selfies" every 30 days, that's shocking for just one country.
Now lets shock you with this. when the word "Selfie" became popular, it was only known with the younger generation, but these days, the demographics as changed, President Obama takes Selfies, Ellen DeGeneres recently took selfies with some couple Actors, I mean the A-list Actors. Even Pope Frances took Selfies with fans. Yes he did!
By 2012, the word "Selfie" became so popular that Times Magazine fixed "Selfie" as one of its Buzz Words. Beleive it or not scroll through your mum's phone you will definitely find some Selfies taken by her.
and you can now ask, what started this "Selfie" of a term....still thinking? Smartphone!, yes you heard me, Smartphones, so if Obama and even Pope Frances takes Selfie it means they all use Smartphones.
