Build and Display
The HomTom HT7 parades plastic construction which can be easily overlooked given the phone's dirt cheap price. It really doesn't look too bad for a budget buy; in fact, it will rank among the more elegant at this price. The 9.9mm thick handset crams in a massive 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen, offering ample screen estate for gaming and watching movies. Although manageable, the HD (720p) screen resolution limits the fun a bit when viewing content with other people.
Camera and Storage
On the rear of the Doogee HomTom HT7 is an 8-megapixel camera with flashlight and autofocus. This is coupled with a 5-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies. If size was all that matter, these snappers are rather robust for a smartphone at this price. It comes with 8GB integrated storage, extendable up to 32 GB using a memory card.
Processor, RAM and OS
Under the hood, the Doogee HomTom HT7 packs a quad-core MediaTek MT6580A processor which is paired with 1 GB of RAM. The level of performance the device will deliver will be more satisfactory to amateur Android users, but not to the vastly experienced ones. The phablet boots Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which is the best you could realistically expect it to run on.
Miscellaneous Specs
Juice will be supplied to the Doogee HomTom HT7 by a large 3,000mAh juicer that should ideally give you full-day use on a charge. It comes with dual SIM card slots (dual standby) and offers 3G connectivity.Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n are also available to users for making wireless connections. Tethering and portable hotspot are supported as well.
