The Infinix Hot 2 is actually a pretty awesome phone, and for its price it is definitely worth it, but as with every gadget, there are pros and of course cons, so here they are:
Pros:
  • It runs in the latest Android OS and with a promise to update to the Marshmallow update (awesome!)
  • It is super affordable in comparison to most phones in the market with lesser qualities
  • The UI is stock Android
  • It is an Android One phone
  • It is super-fast and responsive which makes multi-tasking excellent
  • Good call quality
  • Good video quality
  • Great game experience
Cons:
  • I discovered that quite a lot of apps I am used to seeing on my other Android phones are missing. There is no file manager (which means you have to install a third party file manager), you also do not have your usual photo gallery and only have “Photo” which is a Google app, and then no music app, but you have the Play music which of course is another Google app (sighs) … You have to download a bunch of apps to fill in these gaps from the Play Store.
  • I discovered that when the battery power is down, I couldn’t get its charger to power it back on and had to use a desktop charger to boost the battery. (I’ve spoken to some couple of friends that also have the Infinix Hot 2 and only a few experience this, so I guess it might have been a factory glitch.)
  • Average camera quality
  • Average battery life (well, the battery is only 2200mAH)
My conclusion: If you need a great phone that falls safely under the N20, 000 budget, has a 2GB Ram and performs super smooth and fast, then Infinix Hot 2 is your go-to-phone in the Nigeria phone market.
