Samsung Galaxy Note 6 might be waterproof and dustproof
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 6, the stylus-equipped phablet, will be waterproof and dustproof to IP68 certification, SamMobile claims.
Launched in February, Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagships are also IP68-certified, meaning they can be submerged in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
Another rumor, coming from Dutch website GalaxyClub, claims that the Note 6 might have an iris scanner as well. The report is as thin — it's based on Samsung Mobile importing an "iris cam" into India — but some sort of eye-scanning software would make sense on a business-oriented phone like the Note.
The Note 6 is probably still a while away. Potential launch dates include summer, ahead of Apple's iPhone event, and early September (IFA show in Berlin is held Sept 2 to 7, and the Note 4 was launched at IFA), but nothing has been made official at this point.
The rumors are already pointing to it having a large, 5.8-inch, quad HD screen and 6GB of RAM. Putting all those rumors together (and we're well aware that some or all may prove to be false), and it seems like the new Note might be one powerful phablet.
