LG K8 is one of the new K series smartphones we have seen since the turn of the New Year, following the K7, K10, and K4. The entry-level smartphone comes with an HD display, a quad-core MediaTek processor, and latest Android software.

Build and Screen

Showing off the signature design of the LG K line-up, the LG K8 sports a body made of plastic. The rear panel has a textured feel to it. The phone comes in at about 8.7mm thick and tips the scale at 157 grams.

It packs a 5-inch display with curvy 2.5D arc glass and an HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. With a pixel density around 294 ppi, the screen promises enjoyable viewing.

Camera and Storage

The LG K8 packs in a combo of 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The main shooter has autofocus, LED flash and Full HD (1080p) video recording capability.

The selfie snapper can shoot HD (720p) videos as well. You are provided with 8 GB of inbuilt storage for keeping your photos and videos. The storage space is extendable with a microSD card.

Processor, RAM and OS

A quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor powers the device. The CPU, which delivers speeds of up to 1.3 GHz, is paired with a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU and 1.5 GB of RAM.

Based on this configuration, the LG K8 should enable enjoyable performance and gaming, but not a lot should be expected in terms of multitasking capability. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. For what looks like an entry-level device, the OS choice is impressive.

Other Features

The K8 will have juice provided to it by a 2,125mAh battery, which looks like one to take you through your workday without needing extra top-up. It supports 4G LTE (Cat. 4) connectivity for super-fast mobile browsing experience.

You also get other connectivity options such as microUSB 2.0, speedy Bluetooth 4.2, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot features.

Pricing and Availability

LG K8 is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in the country. LG K8 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N45,000 to N55,000 depending on your location in Nigeria.
